Rule of Three cloth - free pattern

Another dishcloth pattern, this one is from back in March and I'm finally getting around to writing it up. I've been putting off posting it here because I've had such a difficult time coming up with a name for it. The stitch is called "woven ladder", but that seemed boring. So I thought for way too long about it, and decided that it should be the Rule Of Three. Fans of American Pie (movie) will hopefully understand my allusion here, but if not, go watch the second movie again.

"As consistant as gravity."

Rule of Three dishcloth pattern

US sz 8 needles
Worsted weight cotton yarn, I used Peaches & Cream in #148 Shaded Blue

Directions:

*For every row of the cloth:
Slip the first stitch as if to knit (SL1KW = slip one knitwise), and purl the last stitch
This gives a nice smooth edging that I love the look of on dishcloths.

Using long-tail cast-on (or whatever your fave dishcloth CO is), CO 39sts (it you prefer a smaller cloth, or knit very loosely, cast on 31sts)

Border Row: SL1KW, knit to last stitch, P1

Knit border row 4 times

Next row: SL1KW, K2, Purl to last 3 sts, K2, P1

Begin pattern stitch:

R1 - (RS) - SL1KW, K2 *K5, YF, SL3, YB* K1, K2, P1

R2 - (WS) - SL1KW, K2, P1 *YB, SL3, YF, P5* K2, P1

R3 - As Row 1

R4 - SL1KW, K2, Purl to last 3sts, K2, P1

Knit border row 3 more times, then bind off.
