Oh, the pretty colors

In further attempts to avoid my long holiday sewing list, I've been dyeing yarn. With KoolAid. And have discovered that I seem to have a very addictive personality - once I'm interested in something, I have to learn and try all there is to know and do with it....if that came out right, and made any sense at all.

Exhibit A - my collection of KoolAid flavors, neatly organized.

(Just the fact that I took a picture of it shows me the obsessive side of myself. *Shudder* That's 19 flavors, from three different KA brands {well, the real KA, and 2 "off brands"}, and I'd like to point out that I am aware that invisible cherry flavor isn't actually going to change the colors of anything.)

I also want to add that when you're trailed by 2 young kids through the aisles of a grocery store in your search for this sugary beverage that I normally abhor, be prepared for some sideways glances from the mamas shopping only in the organics sections. I must have looked a sight buying $10 worth of KA and nothing else, while my offspring bounced around me like tennis balls. I swear, I wanted to shout out that they do not get to drink this stuff, it's all mine!! That may have looked even more iffy though, so I refrained. The cashier was actually more preturbed by my insistance on using my own bag (i.e. politely refusing the store's plastic bags) than she was by the thought of me hooking my kids up to a constant IV of Ice Blue Razzberry Lemonade...because really, what on earth could I have possibly needed it all for otherwise?

But wait, before you click out of this page, mumbling to yourself (again!) how odd and strange Jess is, look at all the pretty colors -

What do you mean, you're not convinced?

Really?

Oh well, more KoolAid for me, I guess.

And if you happen to find KoolAid in Tamarindo or Jamaica flavors, be sure to buy me a dozen or six - just wrap them up in a box, call it my Christmas present.
