*The broken ankle is healed and much improved, though it does give me issues from time to time, as I'm told should be expected. I did have an issue with it the week leading up to Thanksgiving, and even went to Urgent Care the night before Turkey Day to have it looked at. They took an Xray and says the healing is just a tiny bit off-center, and that may be what's giving me problems. I've been trying to get to the gym on a regular basis to keep it loose and limber, which really helps when I'm keeping up with it.
*The boys are doing wonderfully! Dillon is 14 and Lucas is 10, they're in 8th and 4th grades respectively, and growing like weeds. Neither is at all interested in knitting at this point, though both tell me that they think they remember how to do it. Every once in a while I'll ask if there's anything they'd like me to knit for them, but mostly the answer is "no". Both have knitted hats for DAYS, and since they don't really wear their knitted socks (Dillon outgrows them too fast, and Lucas says they're too warm), I feel like they're being knit-neglected. Dillon asked me to knit him a Gir (Ravelry link), so I've got yarn on tap to knit that soon.
*Dan and I reconnected last spring, and have been happily back together for about 6 months now. Between my 10 and 14 year old boys, and his 4 and 6 year old boys, we've got quite a lively crew.
*The biggest change is that we've moved! Not to PA like I'd planned last summer, but to the area I grew up in, with Dan. His boys are here on the weekends, and it's one big crazy madhouse full of boys.
*I'm still a consultant with Thirty-One, my team has grown a bit, and I love doing parties, but I don't push it, it's mostly just for fun. I gave up Scentsy last summer, and am on the fence now about sticking with Jamberry, but we shall see.
On to knitting - it's been about 8 months since my last post, so I'm just going to flash some pictures of FOs with links to the Ravelry project pages. Other than a mess of dishcloths over the summer, I didn't really get a lot of knitting done last year.
Monkey socks from Koigu KPPPM.
Scrunchable scarf - Christmas gift for Dan's Grandma.
(She's the only person who received a hand-knit gift from me this year!!)
Felted Elf Slippers for my 10yr old son.
I also knitted a garter for a good friend of mine for her October 2012 wedding, and a June Bride Shawlette for my cousin for her June 2012 wedding. Both from KnitPicks sockyarn (the glimmery one - dark blue for the October bride, baby blue for June's bride). And I have no decent finished object pictures of them, despite the fact that my professional-photographer father was present at both of these weddings! Will have to work on that! Oh, and another hat for Dan (from road trip yarn!) that I haven't gotten a picture of either.
Right now I have a pair of socks for Dan in progress, along with my usual beginning-of-the-new-year UFO crawl to get to work on. Not feeling as dedicated to the UFOs as I'd like to be, which may mean that they've just been "marinating" for too long, and I should just frog them already. I need to get some socks for myself onto the needles, and I've been itching for some fingerless mitts as well.
Back to my needles, happy knitting to ya!
