Finished Projects - so far in 2013

As a knitter, I feel like I am constantly putting time and effort into my projects, but as an easily-distracted person, all that time isn't necessarily focused on one project at a time.  That's not my norm at all, generally there are at least 4 active projects on needles at any given time here at my house.  For the last week or two, I'd been knitting almost exclusively on this new pair of socks for my boyfriend (who is quite knitworthy, and super appreciative of my efforts).  I was having lunch with a friend (code for knitting with soup and paninis on the side) and commented that I couldn't believe how fast they were progressing all of a sudden.  Her response?  Yeah, projects go more quickly when you actually work on them!

We're midway through October, and I feel like I've hardly finished anything this year, although I've spent a good deal of time knitting.  So here's my list of FOs so far this year, according to my Ravelry projects pages.

Scrunchable Scarf, knit for no reason whatsoever, in Loops & Thread Charisma yarn in the Black Raspberry color.  I adore this scarf pattern, it's the second one I've knitted, and this yarn is a nice squishy bulky striping delight.  I had a bit of yarn leftover, so started a hat to go along with the scarf, and promptly ran out of yarn far sooner than I'd thought I should have.

Dan's first pair of knitted socks!  Plain 3x1 ribbed toe-ups, knit concurrently on their own magic loop needles, from Knit Picks Felici Sport in the Sticks & Stones colorway.  They took me about 3 months to knit, and were completed on Valentine's Day for my sweetheart.  He loves them, and immediately decided he would need many more pairs.  I agreed to one pair per year, but we shall see.

Bitty Cabled Sweater for my friend Mia's new baby boy, Milo.  This sweet little sweater was so much fun to knit!  I adore the look of cables in a good wool yarn, and tiny cables for a baby is even better.  There's a matching hat, and I also knit baby socks with a single cable from toe to cuff that I don't seem to have any pictures of.

A random cowl from KnitPick Chroma yarn in the Pool Party color.  It turned out far too wide, so will be gifted to someone at some point.  Chroma is really lovely to knit with, though I did have some issues with sneezing like crazy, which makes me wonder if I should bother trying to knit myself anything out of my Chroma stash...

Not to be deterred, here's the next project, another Chroma cowl, this time in ribbing and fewer stitches cast on.  Color is Midwinter, and it's SO PRETTY!  Sadly I still have the sneezy, tickly nose issue with this one, so I think I'm going to send it to a friend that I owe something knitted and purple to.

Final finished project so far is Dan's second pair of socks.  I know, one pair a year, right?  Oh well, we found a yarn he liked that I was able to trade from stash for with another Raveler.  They took about 5.5 months to knit, with 5 months spent on the feet, then the final two weeks (if even that long!) on the heel turns and legs and ribbing.  I don't have a FO picture for these yet because they're already in the wash after him wearing them a few times in the week since they've been done.  I think his next pair will be from the Wild Hare yarn in Ravens colors that he asked for from MSWF earlier this year.  I'll start them after New Years, along with my own pair from the same yarn, and maybe we can have matchy purple and black socks by the time NFL preseason comes around again!
