2009 - a New Year of Knitting

My knitting goals for 2009 are kind of boring, but I'll post them here as a reminder to myself - maybe it will help to keep me on track.

1 - Knit myself a sweater, Emerald or February Lady or something from KPS.

2 - Finish Dillon's KPS sweater! As of right now it's done except for about 80% of the sleeves, which are sitting on a magic loop needle now, waiting for me to get back to them.

3 - Design a sock pattern, something I've wanted to do ever since I really got the hang of sock-knitting.

4 - Do Summer of Socks 09! 2008 SOS was so much fun that I cannot wait to play along again this year.

5 - Steek something! I've been listening to Kelley Petkun's KnitPicks podcasts since getting an iPod for the holidays, and she's gotten me interested in the idea of steeking.

6 - Knit another blanket. I've done one each year in 07 and 08, so I figure that's going to be "my thing", one blanket each year. For 2009 I'm planning a Moderne Log Cabin from Mason-Dixon Knitting.

7 - Knit something for myself from Big Girl Knits, or More BGK. I own both books and am constantly poring over them with grand plans, but inevitably abandon my ideas after realizing the sheer volume of yarn required. This will be the year I change that!

8 - Blog more regularly, at least weekly. I'll have to choose a day of the week and assign it as my knit-blogging day, that will make it more likely that I'll remember it. Am thinking Tuesday, but we'll see. I also need to be better about taking pictures of my WIPs and FOs, as that's been slacking over the last few months.

9 - Have a knitting retreat - take a weekend away with yarny friends and enjoy each other's company and inspirations. Holly, this means you!

I think this is all for now
