Hello friends! It's been about three months since my last post here, wow!! Well, I failed miserably in the 52 pair plunge challenge! It officially ends on Monday (5/31), but I won't be able to finish any of my current sock WIPs, so that's all for me, folks! I completed 20 pairs of socks, in varying sizes and patterns, over the last 360ish days. I signed up for the Plunge knowing full well there was no way I'd be able to complete 52 pairs in one year, and though I didn't reach my personal goal of 30 pairs, I'm happy with what I did accomplish. I challenged myself, I designed my own patterns (for 3 pairs), I tried new things, and at the end of the day I still love knitting socks. Win! Here are the socks I made during the challenge:
All in all, I made 5 pairs for myself, 3 pairs for my kids, one pair for my sister, one pair for my BFF in PA, one pair for a good friend's birthday, one pair for a knitting friend's new baby, and 8 pairs of ornament mini socks.
I've just signed up for the fourth installment of the 52 Pair Plunge, but am doing the modified "Mini Plunge" - going for 26 pairs of socks for the year. I'd like to knit at least 2 pairs for each of my kids, probably about 10 pairs for myself, and I owe my BFF in Florida a nice pink cottony pair as well. As for the rest, well that's anyone's guess!!
