Happy New Year! I'm so glad to welcome in 2012! Last year was ok, but this year is going to be great, I just know it! I ended 2011 knitting with friends and hanging out with my kids, and am starting 2012 by blogging and then crashing. That cutie over there is my 13yr old son, modeling a hat that is my younger brother's Christmas gift - a Jacques hat in plain red Paton's wool. This is the third Jacques I've knitted, and it's officially my favorite guys hat pattern now. So easy and versatile! Dillon is modeling it because Joe was out of town with his girlfriend visiting her family in Georgia for Christmas, and we won't see them until next weekend for gifting. I used some of the hat leftovers to knit another mini sock ornament for the tree.
Today begins my UFO Crawl, and in that vein, I worked on two long-abandoned projects this afternoon and evening - the Shalom Cardi, and the Log Cabin Blanket. Both have captured my interest again, hooray! However, neither are great on-the-go projects since they're so large, and the blanket has four different yarns, so I've also revived a pair of socks that I started who-knows-when, and need to find a good lace pattern for them. I'm not sure why I made them 66sts around, so that may need some adjusting.Ok, it's almost three a.m., so time for me to hit the sack. Back to knitting in the morning, and knitting and watching the Ravens in the afternoon, woohoo!
