You'll never believe it!

My UFO Crawl is finished!!! Dillon's sweater was the very last project, and was completed on 2/14. Here's a pic of him wearing it this evening - yep, that's 4-5 feet of snow in the background! I ran out of yarn below the elbows and lucked out at my local yarn shop - she had just the right medium gray color to finish off the sleeves. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but this sweater has been 2 1/2 years in the making!! I started it back when Dillon was almost 9 years old, and he's now almost 11 1/2. Luckily I somehow had the forethought to knit the largest size, the 10/12, so he should get a bit of wear out of it before it gets handed down to Lucas (7). I guess I should go ahead and start thinking about Dillon's next sweater, lol!

My Olympic knitting is going well, if slowly. I cast on for a Mr. Greenjeans in KnitPicks Swish the same night I completed Dillon's sweater, and have been strangely project-monogamous ever since then! It may have something to do with the fact that I have only Mr GJ, and a log cabin blanket on the needles, but this is so rare for me that I just have to crow about it. I'm not harboring any illusions that I will be able to finish this sweater before the closing ceremonies (as of right now, I'm not even to where the sleeves split off from the body), but it feels great to have gotten to this point.

I'm eagerly anticipating my annual "tax-refund order" from KnitPicks, which should be here on Monday. I have some interchangeable needle tips and fixed circs for socks (size 0s, woohoo!), some superwash yarns in black and purple (Ravens hats for the boys!), but the things I'm most excited about are the books. Sock Innovation, and Sock Club! SI didn't really interest me when it first came out, but after seeing so many Sunshines, Kai Meis and Bex socks on Ravelry, it needed to come live with me. I came across SC at B&N and found a few "must knits" in it as well.

I've been very restrained in the yarn-buying this year, and in fact I think this is the first time I've ever ordered from KP and gotten so little yarn! I think I'm subconsiously trying to save up my yarn budget for MSWF! Here's my wish list for sheep&wool so far -

STR - Crazy Lace Agate, My Blue Heaven, Mr Greenjeans (maybe), Winter Solstice in lightweight
STR heavyweight - just one skein to knit myself a hat maybe
Soap from my favorite vendor - the name escapes me right now, but I know exactly where to find the booth!
Tess ribbon yarn for a short/cap sleeved tank
Dream In Color - shrug pattern - not bc I want to make it, but bc I love the lace stitch and want to use it for socks!
