Long time, no blog

My camera went "kaput" a while ago, and I need to replace it soon. The store I bought it from was kind enough to send me a store credit in the amount of my purchase price (from 2 years ago), so I just need to get myself to that store and pick a new cam. But in the meantime, I haven't been taking pics, except when I can snag my mom's cam, and I think she's on to me, hence no pics. And what is a knitting blog without pictures? Basically me telling you what I'm working on, and you having to try to imagine it.

Most exciting thing is that I'm going to see the Yarn Harlot tonight! She'll be at the Borders store about 90 minutes from home, and my sister and I are heading that way this afternoon. We're both thrilled that she's in our area again, as neither of us were able to make it to her signing last fall when she was in NoVa. Yippee, what could be better - a night out with my fave sis (she's my only sis, but she's still my fave), knitting, Yarn Harlot, and a bookstore. Just makes my Monday.

Last night I decided that since I'm going to run out of yarn on Dillon's socks very soon (more about that in a minute), and I didn't want to work on my Monkeys (too much attention needed), I'd start a new pair of socks for myself - something mindless that I could work on during the drive (Sarah's being the chauffeur) and at the store that I wouldn't need a pattern for. Cast on with some Zitron Lifestyle that I got last week, so I'm ready to rock now. :)

Dillon's socks are going so nicely - I fixed the heel issue I mentioned in my last blog, and am cruising my way down the foot now. Problem is, I started with 40grams of yarn for a 9 year old's foot. My 5yr old's socks took exactly 40grams of yarn, so I know I won't have enough to complete Dillon's. Luckily, the friend who gifted me with the yarn (leftovers from her own socks) answered my plea for help, and is going to send me some solid black yarn for completing the toes of Dillon's socks. I don't call her Super Janessa for nothing!

Found a button for the striped sophie bag, and am going to get it sewn on and finished today so I can carry it to YH tonight. And have decided that I need more KP sock needles. I have 6 or 7, but the size I need never seems to be available when I want to start something new. That's how I ended up with so many pieces for my KP Options/Harmony sets also. Might be a good idea not to get more sock needles though - to cut down on all the socks-in-progress laying around here!

Oh, I've also got my Options/Harmony needle case all planned out - on graph paper, even! The fabric is ready, I just need to drag out/unearth my sewing machine and cutting mat and hop to it. Today, hopefully, while all the laundry is going...I've been bad, and I don't think I've washed anything in at least 4 days, so the hampers are overflowing. Fun, fun!
