Loving me some socks

Sarah and I got to meet Stephanie Pearl- McPhee, aka the Yarn Harlot, when she visited Annapolis on her latest book tour last week. We had so much fun, and really got a lot of knitting done during the waiting time and on the drive - well, I did, as I was the passenger on an hour long trip. SPM's new book is really great! I started a new pair of socks the night before so I'd have a mindless pair to work on - as I couldn't go see the Yarn Harlot and NOT knit socks, lol!

This blog has gotten very boring lately, since I'm no longer finishing things so fast. The Yarn Stash Game that I played for 6 weeks was a huge motivator to finish a bunch of UFOs, and to use up some single balls of yarn for small projects. Then I started knitting socks, and it's much slower going. The first pair, which is Lucas's (5yr old son) is finished (although I still haven't been able to get a good picture of them both on his feet yet), the second pair, which is Dillon's (9yr old son) is down to the toe decreases, but I'm out of yarn. A friend is generously sending me some plain black sock yarn so I can finish them off. The third and fourth pairs are both for me - the third pair started out as Monkeys, but I was too impatient with the pattern, and now they're just plain stockinette socks. I've got a few more plain rounds to knit, then get going on the heel flap. The fourth pair is going to be the Ribbed Anklets from 5/08 CK magazine, and they're only about in inch into the top ribbing.

Since I don't have any great knitting pictures to share, here are some yarn shots for you - all sock yarns, all droolworthy, IMO.
Oh, and I did replace my digital camera this weekend. New pictures to come as soon as my KnitPicks order arrives today.

Lucky you getting to meet Stephanie! And I'm LOVING and (very) jealous of all your sock yarns!

Good grief! I almost feel non-knitterly by thinking "whoah, that's a LOT of yarn!"
