Instead of knitting, and SOS#6

Last night I finished my 6th pair of SOS socks, plain vanilla socks from KnitPicks Essential in Shale Multi, on 2.5mm (I think!) dpns. I adore the way the short color-repeats pooled to make a stripey-swirl. These socks took only about 65g of yarn, so I even have 3/4 of the second skein remaining, despite my having size 10 feet. :)

Then I dyed some yarn for socks. And somehow mixed up the measurements of "feet" and "yards". So my long stripes won't be very long, but I don't know why on earth I thought that the circumference of the living room couch was 14 yards! Oh well. I'd meant to make them medium-blue and brown stripes with white between them. I got a great purpley-blue, and a muddy purpley-brown. It's dry now, and the colors are still a bit iffy to me, but I'm postponing the decision to try to overdye the brown section or not.

Today, instead of knitting, I've been working on the boys' new bedroom. Both loftbeds were completed and assembled before they left, so my task was to make up the beds, get their dressers cleaned out and moved in. Dillon's bed is ready, and I'm putting off Lucas's until tomorrow, because his sheets need to be washed.

And believe it or not, I have not knit a single stitch since late last night, nor do I have any.socks.on.the.needles - at all!
