Into the home stretch...

Summer of Socks ends a week from Friday, and I'm scrambling. I met my goal, which was 5 pairs of socks, last Friday with the Spring Forwards, and am about 75% done with pair #6. With luck I can have them done tonight. And strangely, I'm also plotting pair #7. I've never knit a pair of fingering-weight socks in under 14 days, but my worsted weight footies took about 6 days. So maybe that's the key. We'll see!

My kids are having an absolute blast at the beach with my parents, and I'm only partially envious. They emailed me a video of Lucas in the ocean today, and the sounds of the surf were music to my ears. It makes me really look forward to our Disney trip in the spring, with the hopes that we can visit the beach while we're in Florida. Not that I have any concept of FL geography, so I don't know how far Orlando actually IS from either coast. But I do know that there are at least two yarn stores I'll need to be visiting.

I dislike reading blog posts without pictures, so here's a cute one.
