Sock knitting meme

Because it's pretty much *all* I'm knitting these days, so what else am I going to talk about, here's some sock knitting info about me. It IS all about me here, right? Feel free to snatch this for your own blog - especially since I'm going to tag a few of you at the end anyway!

When did you learn to knit socks? March 2008, so it's been about 6 months.

What's the first sock you ever knit? Yarn Harlot's basic sock recipe (found in Knitting Rules, and online for free), with KP Felici yarn on magic loop for my 5yr old son.

Favorite sock pattern? Definitely SPM's basic sock recipe - I use it for everything, and especially love to use it with stitch patterns.

Favorite sock yarn? Socks that Rock, and Jitterbug are my current loves.

Fave needle method? 4 DPNs are my fave, though I've tried 1 & 2 at a time on Magic Loop (32 and 40" needles). I gave the 2-circ method a try before I used sock DPNs and didn't like it, but now I'm eager to give it another chance sometime soon.

Favorite sock needles? Love my KnitPicks nickel sock dpns - I bought the set, and also bought dupes of my most-used sizes (2.25, 2.5, 2.75mm).

Who do you knit socks for? Mostly for myself. My 5yr old has gotten 2 pairs, my 9yr old has gotten 1 pair, gave one pair to my Mom, and one pair to my sister. The rest are mine.

How many pairs have you knitted to date? Twelve, I think. Maybe 13?

What's on your sock knitting to-do list? I have some faux-fair isle-ish yarn that I bought to make socks for my Grandma's birthday in November, and I need to get going on a pair for Dillon's 10th birthday, which is 2 weeks from tomorrow.

What kind of socks do you like to knit -
Striped? Yes! Self-striping yarn, and stripe-it-yourself too.
Colorwork? Haven't tried it so far.
Plain stockinette? Oh yes, always have plain socks in the works.
Cabled? Not really.
Lace? YES! I think lace socks are my fave.
Anklets? Yes.
Knee socks? No - I wouldn't wear them though.
Solid colors? Yes, but subtle semi-solids and kettle-dyes are even better.
Bright & crazy? Yes.
Faux-Fair Isle? Yes, though I haven't done much of it.
