A productive weekend

The helmetliner is done! The helmetliner is done! And it's too big. Totally unwearable by the troops, so I've given it to my brother, and will have to knit another to be mailed overseas.

Lucas (my 5y/o) had a classmate's birthday party on Saturday afternoon, which was a lovely opportunity for me to knit for just over an hour straight - sitting on a very comfy couch at JumpZone, this reeeeally neat kids place. My boys are SO having their bday party there in the fall! I started a Sophie bag in a great long-print wool from The Nest, and it went so quickly. Last night I finished the body of the bag, and I'm hoping to finish the fourty thousand feet of Icord handles before I go to bed tonight. Will get pre-felting pics...although I'm not totally sure I'm really going to felt it. I knit with the yarn double stranded, so it's very nice and sturdy already. We'll see though - I do love me a good felted bag!

Yarn Stash Game is going well - I think I'm almost to 250 points (that's 10pts per ounce knitted from stash), and we're just 12 (13?) days in. The game ends on 2/29, and I've already accomplished several things on my to-do list (the baby kimono, the helmetliner, a dishcloth [all UFOs], felted bowls), but have been putting off one major one - finishing Dillon's hoodie sweater. All that's left on that is the sleeves, sewing on 1 button, and blocking. But it's so boring, I can't even bring myself to hunt up the rest of the yarn for it from stash. Maybe I need to get a few faves from Netflix, and just sit down and power through it all this weekend. I have fallen down on my goal of one dishcloth per week, but eh, no biggie - like I'm going to run out of dishcloths. There are a few that my KAL group has done recently that I'd like to do though, but don't want to have to buy more cotton yarn this month, so that might have to wait. I'm out of all reds, pinks and purples, though I have at least 6 different blues, and for some reason, 3 oranges.

Off to herd the boys to bed, and then go Icord until I can't stand it any longer.
