It's cooooommmmming!

Only 9 more hours until SOS begins. ONLY NINE MORE HOURS UNTIL SOS BEGINS!!!

Why yes, I am excited, what makes you ask? :)

Patterns are chosen, queue'd, printed out, assigned to yarns, and ziploc'd up , with the exception of the WendyKnits SOS08 pattern that will be emailed tonight or tomorrow, and a few that I'm still "iffy" about. ALL of my sock needles are empty now, as I completed the second Marigold sock this afternoon. I meant to pick up a few more dangle-y row counters at the Nest today, and will have to go back later for those.

Completed Marigold socks, at last! These took me almost a month to knit, but they're so lovely, fit so nicely and are scrummy warm. This was my first time knitting toe-up socks, and knitting with Socks That Rock yarn.

Pattern: Marigold socks, by Pamela Wynne
Yarn: Socks that Rock mediumweight in Sea Stone color
Needles: 2.75mm DPNs, one sock at a time
Modifications: One of the pattern rows is supposed to be purled, but I decided to knit it instead, and I really like how it turned out.

Back to the Summer of Socks lamenting...
I'm choosing not to wind my yarn until I'm ready to use it right away. I know that will slow me down a little, but I don't want to feel pressured by the yarn that's wound, when what I really want to work on is something else entirely. I may be taking this a bit too seriously, but eh, whatever.

I did cast on a new sock this past Tuesday at knitting time, but ended up having to rip it out, as I've wised up and tried it on before turning the heel - it was too small, so I'll restart those on larger needles later.

To start with:
          • Monkeys with my new Snow Angel (showed yarn yesterday)
      • Plain ribbed socks from Lion Magic Stripes
      • Undecided - I know I want to get going on three socks, but will possibly just dig in the SOS bin to choose a random pattern. Or I will just restart the Saucy sock that I ripped out.
Plans/Goals:
      • Have fun.
      • Minimum 5 pairs of socks by Sept 1.
      • Knit Monkeys, finally!
      • Don't neglect the laundry for knitting time - cute socks are great, but not if the rest of you is bare.
      • Have fun - stop when it's not fun anymore, and hope that point doesn't come before June has ended.

Yeah, I'm taking this too seriously. I'll be sick of socks by the Fourth of July
