I'm on the ball today, and am actually taking my Wednesday pics and posting them on Wednesday! Here are my current WIPs...
Snow Angel Monkeys - slow going because the yarn feels so thin to me. After trying it on I'm worried that it won't fit, but will keep going - I love the yarn and it's pooling really neatly in this pattern. However, I'll make sure to knit the other hand-dyed from my friend in a more plain or variegated-friendly sock pattern. Maybe RPM or Roundabout. :)
Magic Stripes - They're going really quickly, as it's just stockinette in the round on the foot, and I'm using 3.25mm needles. I have about an inch to go on the first sock before starting the toe decreases. It's fitting nicely, and I really like the color combo.
Saucy socks - As you can see, I've only got the top ribbing done, along with the first few rows of the pattern. I haven't worked on this one since I started it on Saturday though - no specific reason, the others are just much more interesting right now, I guess. The variegated yarn is so pretty, the colors have so much depth to them - I chose this color (Fibranatura Yummy in Gypsy Rose color) because it's very similar to the yarn used in the pattern sample.

And finally, my
2 at once Monkeys! Began these on Monday morning, and just got the toes finished last night while watching a movie. I did the toes separately (though at the same time) on 2 sets of DPNs, then transferred them to a 32" circ to start the pattern, which is the same toe-up, no-purl Monkey as the Snow Angel up above. This yarn is STR mediumweight in Brick color. I think I need to order this needle in a 40" length, as the 32 is leaving next to zero "elbow room" with two socks on it.
Feeling like a very selfish knitter these days - when asked at knitting time the other day who all these socks were going to be for (i.e. friends, holiday gifts, etc), I said "No, they're all for me so far". Eh, nothing wrong with that at all. I have a very hard time getting things done (knitting, sewing, just about anything at all) when it's not what I want to be doing, so making things to order, on a deadline just isn't a good way to do it. Nothing will make me want to knit something less than telling me when it has to be finished. Maybe some of that leftover defiance to authority from my teen years?
Anyway - I've been carrying my sock projects in their individual project bags, but have tossed them all into a basket I got years ago at some craft store, and have been toting that around the house, and around town with me. It holds my sock needle collections (I store the sock DPNs separately from the sock circs for the time being), knitting gadget kit (scissors, markers, postits & index cards, pen, etc),, journal book to keep track of everything, patterns in page protectors, and several knitting bags. Here's what it looks like right now.

I have two other WIPs, a sock for my 5yr old from worsted weight, faux-fair isle yarn, and a round dishcloth for my KAL group. They're both "break knitting", for when I need a bit of a rest from 2.5mm needles.

And last but not least, when I left knitting time at the Nest yesterday, I picked up a yummy lunch at the sushi place, and brought it home to enjoy. I was just recently introduced to sushi, by my sister Sarah and our friend Amanda, and this is the third time I've had it. I refuse to eat anything spicy or uncooked, so that narrows down the menu choices quite a bit. I really liked
what I got yesterday, though, but if only I had known ahead of time to break the tails off the shrimp tempura before taking a big bite. Ooops.
