Disappointing would be the word for my knitting progress the last few days. I did finish the Magic Stripes sock, and cast on for the second one, but things have been unusually busy around here, so I haven't had much time to knit. I really want to have a finished pair by Friday, so I'll have an entry into the SOS 2-weeks contests, so I'm abandoning all but the MS sock in hopes of getting it done.
Exciting would be the word for the new KnitPicks yarns that I just came across on their site! Kettle-dyed Essential, and a new line of sock yarn in fairy-tale-ish names certainly caught my attention, and several are on their way here right now. I can't wait for them to arrive - one of them will likely be cast on right away, of course, and the others will languish in stash for a while. It's called marinating, lol.
Fun stuff in the mail last week - I ordered a Namaste Cali Laguna in Peacock, which arrived on Thursday. LOVE the color, but wow that's a b.i.g bag. Bigger than I was expecting, honestly, and I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. Might resell it and order a Malibu (but I want Lime and cannot seem to find it instock anywhere!), though I'd love to find a Jetsetter in Turquoise or Raspberry. I *think* my LYSO can order those through one of her distributors, so I should ask her about it tomorrow.
Anyway, today I'm spending time cleaning up my sewing area, which takes up part of our large basement family room. While my yarn stash may be ginormous (especially for one who's been knitting for less than 2 years), my fabric stash outpaces the yarn by miles. Going through it and seeing everything is making me slightly itchy to sew, but it's just like looking at my yarn stash - I have all these ideas, cannot decide on one, and inevitably walk away to waste time online.
