MD Sheep and Wool, part deux

Well, one day at the festival wasn't nearly enough for this girl. We honestly did not get to all the vendors/barns on Saturday, so I went back on Sunday for a few hours, and brought the kids with me. Dillon (9) and Lucas (5) were loving the animals, though they held their noses through the first bit of the barns. We saw plenty of sheep, some alpacas, goats, and bunnies. We got to watch several sheep being sheared - 2 of them up-close, and 2 from the audience on the lawn outside the main hall. The guys got the requisite cotton candy (despite the fact that it was 11:30am) and temporary tattoos; Dillon even remembered exactly where the vendor was that we got the tattoos from last year, and led us there. He was even kind enough to share his with me, so I have a Celtic twist sort of thing on the inside of my right wrist.

A photo recap of Sunday:

We parked out in Siberia -

No, they're not eager to get inside, they're running from the Mom with the camera pointed at them-

The Tshirt line was so short, I had the guys stand there while I took a picture. There was only 1 person in line behind us-

I left with a big logo tote bag, a blue logo hoodie, and a brown sunvisor.

But my kids come prepared, and sat in chairs in the shade of the barn entrance and played their gameboys while I stood in line-

Cotton candy for "brunch" -

A cute Pygora goat that Lucas would have brought home with him -

Adorable sheep -

I think this is a llama, but I'm not sure -

Gorgeous chocolate alpaca who'd just gotten a haircut the day before. Lucas tried so hard to pet her, but she kept going over to the little boy you see in this picture -

Another sweet alpaca, still waiting for her own haircut -

The only sheep that Dillon would touch, for some reason -

I think we have a thing for the baby animals -

These lambs made a neat "before and after" example for Lucas -

And here's a "later than the after" picture - lunch from Saturday. The gyros are particularly yummy.

Sheep-shearing, up close and personal -

A few pics from Saturday also -

Socks That Rock at The Fold on Saturday morning. Left is the line outside to pay - we waited about 30 minutes. Right is the actual booth. Below is the line to pay, behind us once we got up to the front.

It's starting to snake around the corner to the right.

A giant ball of roving that had me wishing I were a spinner.

The wall of Koigu, etc at The Mannings.

My Saturday haul, and my first spindle. Here's what I brought home: IK Winter 2006, IK Felts, 3 bars of yummy soap from Leslie's Garden, a 10" Stretchy Circular needle in size 2, 7 skeins STR (Rainforest Jasper, Midsummer Night, Turquoise, Sapphire, Lucy In The Sky, Star Sapphire, and Sun Stone), 2 skeins of Claudia's handpaint sock in Oops colorway, 2 skeins of Tess' Designer Yarns Sock (the blue-purple bundles in the center, for my very own Clapotis), pink in the lower left is sock yarn from Woolarina, green next to it are Wullenstudio sock yarn from Sheila Rovelstad. Lower right is my spindle from Carolina Handspun and roving (Flamingo) by Bonkers at Yarn Barn of Kansas.

Earlier in the post , by the giant grape, you say you wish you were a spinner. At the end we see a spindle and roving. Does that mean you have taken the plunge? What is a Stretchy Circular?
