I've finally tried knitting socks on DPNs, and I have to say that I'm reeeeally liking it. It feels like it's going much faster than 2-at-a-time on a circ (i.e. Magic Loop), but that could just be because the one sock is the only thing I've knitted on since I started it. Cast on Thursday evening at KnitNight, and after trying it on this afternoon, I have another inch to go before I need to start the toe decreasing. Very satisfying, I must say. I ordered more DPNs in my fave sock sizes (2.0, 2.25, and 2.5mm) from Knit Picks, in the hopes that I can still do the "2 at a time" idea only with DPNs. Pic was taken at the end of KnitNight, with just over an inch of ribbing, and being modeled by one of the comfy chairs at The Nest.
There was some lovely yarn pr0n waiting in my mailbox this afternoon: Salvia sock yarn, from Julia's Yarn Store. Enough for 5 pairs of socks, but hey, they did have a $25 minimum order, so it's allowed. They only number their colorways, so I named them myself. I can't seem to get the picture of all the skeins together to upload, so here they are individually -
Vineyard, Autumn Orchard, Thunderstorm, Mint Mocha, and November
