It's done, I've finally finished the MDK Baby Kimono!!!! It's only been OTN since August, and the baby it's for was born about 2 weeks ago now. But it's finished, and I actually like it so much that I may make another one sometime!
I used I-cords for the ties, and just love how it looks. It almost makes my ovaries twitch to look at this thing, it's so sweet.

This sweater turned out beautiful! I have been looking for a pattern just like that myself.
I think it is great you're going to learn to crochet. I prefer to crochet when it comes to afghans. It goes so much quicker.
