In the midst of my stomachache-insomnia last night (early this morning, really), I decided that I need to learn to crochet. Pick your jaws up off the floor, let me finish, because I never thought I'd be saying this either. I want to learn to crochet just enough so that I can make a Ripple Afghan. I came across tons of gorgeous color combos while surfing Ravelry around 1am, and am itching now. Yarn Stash Game might not seem like the best time to learn something new, but since crochet tends to not only use more yarn, but move much faster, it might be just the right time. We shall see. I think it would be a great use for the 5 balls of fall-colored RH Soft Yarn that I naively thought would make a gorgeous log cabin blanket last fall.
Along with finishing the MDK kimono yesterday, I also picked up the Christmas ornament dishcloth that I started in December. It's about halfway done, and I'm itching to move on to something else. I have one lonely skein of Noro that I'm going to knit into a feather & fan hat, and that striping yarn that I dyed a few weeks back to knit into a felted bowl. Plus my sock. Notice I didn't say sockS? I have about 2" of 2x2 ribbing on the cuff done, but I'm not convinced that the gauge is tight enough. I'm knitting on 2.75mm KP circs, and really want to order their 0s and both of their size 1s. Come on, tax refund!!
